The Korean Thanksgiving Day: Chuseok
Is one of the most important festivals in South Korea. It is celebrated in autumn (on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month) and is a time for families to gather, honor their ancestors, and share traditional foods such as songpyeon (rice cakes).
What makes Chuseok truly special is how it blends the spiritual with the familial: there are traditional rituals, visits to the ancestors' graves (seongmyo), as well as cultural activities like folk dances (ganggangsullae) and traditional games.
